My dad and I and friends built this kennel a year
before the barn. The roof has been recently replaces. It
was originally set up with 12 outdoor runs each with
access to its own private indoor pen plus one whelping
pen and run. |

Finished entry-office that
leads into grooming-kitchen type area that has a door
entry into the indoor pens all of this is pretty much
unchanged, outside the runs wear at the south, west and
north side of the building, the four north runs are
still in place and are in excellent condition. |

A Tall window with two smaller windows gives allot
of privacy and an abundance of light. The south end
(whelping pen) run dividers have been removed the cement
is still there. The west side that had the 8 runs the
cement was cracking badly so I removed the wire dividers
and gates stored them inside the building and had the
cement removed, there is lawn there now if you wanted to
bring the kennel back to full service you would have to
pour new runs and reinstalled the dividers and gates on
the west side, build a small external pen on the south
side, I think I saved that to. Install a new hot water
heater, new refrigerator and maybe replace the sink.
Then you would have the same facility that my parents
utilized to become one of the top ranking basset kennel
in the US in breeding and show, dad also raised and
trained at different times Labs, English pointers, wire
haired pointers and was very successful in field trials
with his hunting dogs. Mom was an AKC registered hound
group judge and traveled extensively judging at shows
around the country. See was also very much a part of the
selection of dogs and horses selected for breeding, show
and sale. |

This was the third kennel he built and it was by far
the easiest to clean and maintain plus it provided a
great show place for the sale of championship stock.
The building could be used for any number of things it
is in near perfect condition. Electricity, heat and
running water inside and out. |
